Cain - Pacifico Palumbo 2005
Also painted by J.H. Flandrin 1912
Baron Wilhelm von Gloeden was one of the first photographers to devote his life to the study of the male nude.

He took thousands of photographs of young boys in Taormina Sicily from the time he came to live in his villa in 1876. Most of his work was produced between 1895 and 1910. A large number of his photographs were destroyed by the Fascists during the war. Wilhelm von Gloeden died in 1931.

I discovered his photographs late in 2004. Being so intrigued with them I immediately began interpiting them into paintings.

I have put this web site together in the hope of finding a gallery that will allow me to show my interruptive paintings.
